This game would prove to be Arsenal's last outside the top flight of the English league, and the last before football was suspended due to World War 1. Caretaker manager James "Punch" McEwen mixed it up a bit and played left-back Bob Benson at centre-forward. Benson scored two of Arsenal's seven goals!

There's an article written by us on our sister website which explains what happened leading up to this game, the game itself and the successive events that saw Arsenal regain their place in the top flight when football resumed in 1919.
