Megs Wilson<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"\"Born on 30 May 1942 Margaret “Megs” Wilson (n\u00e9e Miles) was the co-founder with Bob Wilson of the Willow Foundation.<\/p>\n

\u201c…through her compassion, innovation and immense energy, the charity has gone from strength to strength under Megs\u2019 guidance and is a tribute to the life of a remarkable woman, who will be greatly missed by everyone here at Arsenal\u201d Arsenal Programme 2 December 2023<\/p>\n

Founded in 1999 in honour of their daughter, Anna, the charity gives seriously ill young adults special days to remember. Since inception the Willow Foundation grew exponentially owing to the Wilson\u2019s vision and dedication, so much so that the millions of pounds raised allowed them to enable 20,000 beneficiaries to enjoy such days.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Willow foundation was Arsenal\u2019s Charity of the season for 2006-07 and worked hand-in-hand with Arsenal and the Arsenal Foundation over recent years to publicise all their good work.<\/p>\n

Arsenal, inspired by the Willow concept, offered Megs her own special day close to the end of her life. She had lunch with Mikel Arteta and others at Arsenal after a trip to the training ground.<\/p>\n

Having married Bob in 1964, Megs looked after their three children while he kept the Arsenal goal winning the double in 1970-71 and then embarking on a very successful football coaching and TV career.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Well known at Arsenal in her own right in tribute to her memory Arsenal wore black armbands during the recent home win over Lens.<\/p>\n

Died on 28 November 2023 aged 81.<\/p>\n
