Peter Davies<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"\"Born on 8 March 1936 in Dafen, Wales, Peter played for Dafen and then Llanelly before being signed by Arsenal as a right-half \/ inside-forward for \u00a31,500 on 8 November 1957.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

While at Highbury he featured 55 times in the reserve and ‘A’ teams scoring once. Davies made his debut in 16 November 1957 against Birmingham City in the Football Combination and made his last performance on 11 March 1959 versus Nottingham Forest in the same competition. He won the London FA Challenge Cup in 195758 and the Metropolitan League in 1958-59.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

He was included in the Mel Charles transfer saga<\/a> being part-exchanged to Swansea Town on 26 March 1959.<\/p>\n

Peter featured as a wing-half for League Division two side Swansea between 1959 and 1965, making 155 appearances and scoring five goals, he was a Welsh Cup winner and a two-time Wales Senior Cup. He also turned out for Brighton & Hove Albion, Merthyr Tydfil and had a short time in South Africa before ended his playing career back in Wales at Ammanford.<\/p>\n

Following his retirement Peter was landlord at a number of Swansea pubs.<\/p>\n

Peter died on 25 January 2023 aged 86.<\/p>\n
